(Electronics) I got this lens since a couple of months, and I've shot an important amount of pictures using it, and the only thing I can say is that the optics is extraordinary. It takes some time to get comfortable doing manual focusing -not an autofocus capable lens on nikon- but once you get used... OMG. The construction is solid and well finished. One of my best lenses.

Manual focus is hard in general, but especially challenging at minimum focusing distance and f1.4 but its not frustrating. Live view is a big help for focusing but the biggest feature of this lens is that it motivated you to keep shooting and keep practicing. After 20 minutes my manual focusing has already improved. (Electronics) I recently decided to buy a Nikon D90 (body only) and this Zeiss Lens at amazon.
First, let me tell you that as soon as you take this lens out of the box you can tell by it's weight and look that this are really high quality lens. They even attached a Quality Control check list hand signed.
The lens stay very well locked in its place. After playing around a bit with this lenses, I tell you: You'll be amazed about the optical performance, the quality of the images and the colors. I believe these lens are a bit over the optical quality of Nikon's similar models. This lens have a CPU that fits the electronics of the Nikon D90 (ZF.1 don't have this), which allows to take advantadge of some automated features of the camera (A, S, P and Auto Mode).
